Crown Point Community Foundation


        Crown Point Community Foundation is a non-profit foundation made in 1989, organized to come to the aid of community members who're in need. Serving as a charity to enhance the quality of life in South Lake County. Their mission is to provide finance assistance, maximize charitable gifts, utilize current tax law, and direct resources to meet donors' specific needs. 

    With fundraisers, giveaways, and events, the organization has been able to give out grants and scholarships to children and adults to help finish their college education. Also, through private funding, donations, and stocks the organization is able to do a lot more help like this in the town. 

    By bringing smiles to faces and trying to enrich someone's way of living this organization has gone very successful, while receiving no profit. But while they do all this satisfactory for the community, their name is still quite unknown. If people can be more respective, honored, and appreciative of non-profits like these, instead of looking at who, why, and how they're helping and judging, they may allow a little more room for foundations like this to prosper...

    If you're willing, just stop by the organization, shake a few hands, take a few pictures, and see what they're all about. Learn something new, and while at it be appreciative because the knowledge and assistance is free.

Personal Sanctuary

    Recently, I’ve asked my little sister why she spends so much time in her bedroom. There’s a million places in our home to unwind and she’d rather be in her room majority of the time. She began to explain that’s it’s more of a haven for her than a bedroom.        When looking at my bedroom in a different perspective, I quickly realized our rooms are our sanctuaries. There shouldn’t be a limit to what you invest in your bedroom (not even on time) because not only does it reflect who you are, it reflects how you feel.      Being in a space you created yourself gives you peace, even solitude. After a long day of stressful tasks or feeling overstimulated, your room is the only calming technique you need, besides yourself, because you are your own energy.
